Two large wildfires continue to burn in Northern California. The Swedes fire near Oroville has grown to almost 2,000 acres. There's 900 firefighters working the fire which is 45 percent contained. Also the American Fire near Forresthill contiues to get bigger. The US Forest Service puts the fire at almost 14-thousand acres. It's currently 49 percent contained.
Cal Fire is warning residents of storms that may bring lightning strikes to Northern California later this week. They say the dry lightning strikes have the potential to start wildfires. In some cases, the wildfires may smolder for several days before igniting into a fire. Cal Fire has increased staffing and is asking firefighters already on the fire lines to stick around.
