Police continue to investigate a double homicide in Citrus Heights that may be a case of mistaken identity. A man and a woman were found shot to death inside a car on Birdcage Street around 11:30 p.m., Tuesday. Witnesses told police they saw a light colored sedan speeding away from the scene on Birdcage towards Greenback Lane.

Investigators believe the two may have been mistaken for gang members. The Sacramento County Coroner's released the name of a woman this morning. She's identified as 41 year old Gladys Quinteros of Citrus Heights. The man has not been identified.
