The new, soon-to-be owners of the Sacramento Kings took a stop at Sleep Train Arena today to meet the Kings staff. The investment team leader, Vivek Ranadive, reportedly got 2-minutes of applause from the Kings staff, thanking them for saving their jobs. Ranadive and several of the other new owners, including Andy Miller, rolled up their sleeves and went to work -- manning the phones and calling prospective Kings season ticket buyers. Ranadive apparently made a $21-thousand dollar sale. Which was celebrated by the banging of a big gong in the office whenever a sales person sold a seasons ticket deal.
