And as Sacramento makes its case to keep the Kings in New York, there's a different kind of case in the works here at home - one to stop our new arena.

The city has been served. Local attorneys Patrick Soluri and Jefferey Anderson represent a group called the Coalition of Responsible Arena Development and have filed a "notice of intent" to block the deal for a new downtown arena. They say the $448 million deal violates the law because the city hasn't yet conducted environmental reviews...they take issue with the the contribution of parking revenue...calling it an unlwaful gift of public funds. The city rejects both of those claims and says reviews will be conducted before everything is finalized.

Seattle's arena plan has hit roadblocks too so we're on even footing there. Plenty of last minute activity took place before today's meetings.
