SACRAMENTO -- Unemployment numbers are up across the Sacramento region.
The unemployment rate across the Sacramento region rose 0.5 percent over the last month to 8.9 percent.
Typical for this time of year, government cut back about 13,000 jobs.
Educational and health services lost about a thousand jobs, with construction and other service cuts also contributing to the month-over reduction.
California's unadjusted unemployment rate is at 9.3 percent, compared with 7.7 percent for the nation during the same period.
Even so, the rate is well-below last year's estimate of 10.9 percent.
Trade, transportation and utilities dominated the year-over growth with an increase of 5,100 jobs.
