A Flex Alert has been issued in California and it affects the natural gas supply.  Stephanie McCorkle with Cal ISO says that Southern California is having trouble receiving adequate supplies because of cold weather to our East.

"There are natural gas well heads that have frozen in some parts of the mid portion of the country," McCorkle explained.

The flex alert has been issued throughout California until 10pm in an effort to maintain enough supply.

"Turn off unneeded lights, put off using your large electrical appliance, turn down or turn off the heater," McCorkle requested.

She added that there is no need to worry about any outages just yet.
