The Yolo County Sheriff's Department is now investigating a second officer involved shooting in Woodland.  

This latest shooting happening less than 24 hours after the first and it was a CHP officer who opened fire this time.

The officer was among those responding to a possible DUI late last night on the shoulder of Interstate 5 near Road 102.  

CHP spokesman Pedro Leon says officers tried to arrest the unidentified driver and things got out of hand.

"One of our officers then fired in response to that and hit him multiple times," Leon said. 

The suspect was flown to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. There's update on his condition.  

The CHP officer will be place on administrative leave.
