October is National Bullying Prevention Month in Sacramento, and will again be highlighted by an empowering intervention conference this week.
Hosted by The B.R.A.V.E Society, the event includes solution-based prevention and intervention strategies.
Former sheriff John McGinnis is one of the keynote speakers.
"The very simple message is: Bullies are thugs who probably lack confidence themselves," McGinnis said.
The KFBK Radio Host will stress the importance of perspective when being bullied.
"This is a temporary condition that they can live past. They can ultimately achieve great things. They can enjoy life -- all the many resources and wonderful experiences to which they have a right," McGinnis said.
The free event will be held Saturday at the Capitol Christian Center. All are welcome: especially students, teachers, administrators and parents.
