A week after a missing person report for Patricia MacDonald was filed by the Sacramento Police Department, the Curtis Park woman's Toyota Camry was found in a rural area of Gold Run in Placer County.

CHP officers say the vehicle appears to have left the roadway and traveled down a steep embankment, and Officer Tim Brown said a body was found in the area.

"We're waiting for Placer County to confirm the identity, but we're fairly certain that the person we found today was Mrs. MacDonald," Brown said.

Patricia MacDonald has been a long-time community volunteer and activist, donating her time to Sacramento WEAVE and the Casa Garden Restaurant.

She was also the District Director for former Sacramento Assembly member Lloyd Connelly, where she helped solve thousands of local citizens' problems, helping them find jobs, child care, medical coverage and the like.
