The FBI makes a crack at a credit card fraud ring and snares a Citrus Heights man in the process.
Trucking company owner Mihran Melkonyan is under arrest after FBI agents searched his home and business in Citrus Heights Wednesday.
Melkonyan and Rouslan Akhmerov are accused of running a complex scheme to defraud American Express.
A criminal complaint, obtained by News10, says the men submitted fraudulent charges on stolen American Express credit card accounts.
News10 went to speak with Melkonyan Thursday and was rebuffed, but they did speak to a neighbor who described the scene when the FBI arrived.
"There was a lot of police vehicles -- militarized looking police vehicles," he said.
The neighbor went on to say he noticed a number of high priced cars and other items parked outside Melkonyan's home in recent weeks, which he thought were unusual for a modest community with moderate income residents.
