A former Rocklin teacher will be spending over four years behind bars. Matthew Yamamoto pleaded no contest to multiple charges of sexual acts with a minor and a count of conspiracy in early October.
Those charges stem from an inappropriate relationship he had with a student while teaching at Whitney High School.
The judge says he was most disturbed by Yamamoto's actions in teaching the student how to destroy evidence and set up multiple email accounts in to make their conversations harder to trace.
Yamomoto also on numerous occasions violated a restraining order by making contact with the student. Yamamoto must also register as sex offender for the rest of his life.
