An LA company has purchased the old Campbell's Soup Plant in South Sacramento.
Real-estate firm Hackman Capital has partnered with two other investment groups to buy the 130-acre site, which was vacated over the summer.
"I've been waiting for this to occur for the last six months," County Supervisor Jimmie Yee said.
Yee says the property's size, cold storage and water wells make it a candidate for just about anything tied to food and ag, clean tech or manufacturing. Hackman says it will likely split the space among several tenants.
"With mixed-use I see a lot more potential jobs," Yee said.
