CARMICHAEL, Calif. -- A man has been detained after a standoff with deputies in Carmichael this morning.

Sacramento County Sherriff's Spokesman Jason Ramos says it all started about 6:15 on Petty Lane -- near Garfield and Marconi.

Family members said the suspect was intoxicated, agitated and inside a house and that there were several weapons, Ramos said.

At one point the man was seen pacing through a yard wearing a tactical vest and neighbors were told to find shelter.

Deputies fired rubber bullets and a canine helped bring him down just after 9 a.m. It's not clear what type of weapons the man had.
