Sacramento County is only doing a so-so job on lowering obesity rates.

A statewide physical fitness tests shows that nearly 60 percent of fifth, seventh, and ninth graders were found to have a healthy body make up.

But the numbers of students at high-risk for health problems rose 0.2 percent to 27.7 percent.

However more than one-third are said to be at risk in the large districts including Sacramento City Unified School District, Woodland Joint Unified School District and Galt School District.

Economic conditions were found to play a role in fitness, as districts with higher poverty rates had more kids at risk for obesity and health problems.
