The probe into the disappearance of a Malaysian airliner is taking a new turn.
CNN says a source close to the investigation said the plane was trying to avoid Indonesian radar as it left its planned route to Beijing.
Commercial pilot Nick Sabatini told CNN's "State of the Union" there's no hard evidence the pilots deliberately took the jet off course.
In the same interview, former NTSB board member Kitty Higgins agreed.
Meanwhile, search vessels are converging on an area where a Chinese ship detected a second series of electronic pings in the search for the missing airliner.
