SACRAMENTO -- Where are the signatures paid for with money paid by Seattle billionaire Chris Hansen and what's going to happen to them?

On the Seattle Sonics Arena webpage Chris Hansen says he is not going to turn over the signatures he paid to have gathered. But STOP -- Sacramento Taxpayers Opposed to Pork -- says the petitions belong to them.

"STOP believes that he has no legal right to interfere with those signatures being handed over to the city clerk in Sacramento," John Hyde with STOP said.

Hyde says they are currently involved in locating the petitions. Meanwhile, Hyde says Hansen's announcement is a face saving measure.

"We can't tell what his motivation is, but our guess he is responding out of a sense of guilt ... portray himself in a little better way," Hyde said.
