A city ordinance in West Sacramento could change where you can buy and sell firearms.
The West Sacramento City Council is expecting to hear arguments both in favor and against the possible re-mapping of where gun retailers can do business.
The proposed ordinance would move over-the-counter sales of firearms and ammunition from the central business district to outlying business parks and industrial areas.
Speaking to the Sacramento Bee, Senior City Planner David Tilley says concerns were voiced by West Sacramento police and local business owners.
Firearms brokers and dealers have complained about the ordinance saying this is about constitutional rights.
The West Sacramento City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
