Whooping Cough Cases Increase in California

Health officials say there's been a big increase in the number of whooping cough cases in California.

At one time it was believed the highly contagious respiratory disease had been nearly wiped out.

Among the reasons cited by health officials are more parents opting out of immunizations for their kids.

They say there is declining immunity among children who were vaccinated years earlier but haven't gotten a booster shot.
