Yesterday, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a new app to aid with notifying Apple and Android users of potential exposure through a voluntary app called CA Notify.
The app is:

- Confidential
- Voluntary
How It Works:
Once you activate CA Notify, it does all the work. All you do is keep your Bluetooth on. You will only receive alerts if you were in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19. Your privacy is protected as your identity is not known and your location is not tracked.
The app promises to not gather:
- Your name
- Contact info
- Your location or movements
- The identity of those you meet
